Basic Function and Scope:

The Student will assist with assigned information services projects, system quality control, performance monitoring, study management, system workflow, and other assigned projects. The Information Systems Project Placement Student will continually identify opportunities for improvements that will increase efficiency, security, performance, and improve utilization of systems.  He/she is responsible to support strategic directional and project management activities.

Hours of Work:
Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, and weekends) as required.
Pay Rate:
$17.60

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary Computer Studies or other relevant program.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital environment, preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, creativity and high motivation;
  • Excellent  computer skills,  including experience with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work under time restraints and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and work in a team environment;
  • IT theory & skill sets for trouble-shooting
  • Working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems, preferred
  • Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
  • The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
