Key Recognitions

OAMRS Team Award (March 2021)

The Diagnostic Imaging Team received the 2021 Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS) Team Award. This provincial award recognizes teams that embrace collaboration, provide outstanding patient care, and significantly enhance the organization’s reputation, service, and credibility.

Key accomplishments include:
  • Development of a highly effective and efficient team.
  • Creating a work environment that rewards collaboration and high team morale.
  • Innovative service delivery.
  • Development or implementation of a successful program.
  • Public education and outreach, including volunteering.
  • Exceptional patient care and experience.
  • Promoting and raising the profile of the imaging professions.

 

The award was presented in March 2021, with a formal presentation at the OAMRS award gala (to be held post-pandemic).

Ontario Laboratory Accreditation (November 2020)

In November 2020, LACGH’s laboratory team successfully completed its Ontario Laboratory Accreditation assessment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the assessment was conducted virtually, making LACGH the second hospital in Ontario to complete it in this format.

Key highlights:
  • Achieved 97% compliance with accreditation standards, the laboratory’s highest achievement to date.

Canadian Association of Radiologists’ Mammography Accreditation Program (CAR-MAP) (March 2020)

LACGH’s Diagnostic Imaging Mammography Department successfully renewed its CAR-MAP Accreditation, ensuring continued delivery of high-quality mammography services.

The CAR-MAP program, in place for over 20 years, assesses facilities based on:
  • Personnel Requirements: Ensuring qualified professionals conduct examinations and oversee diagnostic imaging.
  • Quality Control: Implementation of a quality assurance program and monitored tests to guarantee optimal image quality.
  • Equipment Specifications: Use of equipment functioning as intended.
  • Breast Image Quality: Regular assessment of image quality and associated radiation doses by a qualified reviewer.

CAG Quality Endo Award (May 2022)

In recognition of LACGH’s ongoing dedication to quality in endoscopy, the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology (CAG) presented the hospital with a 2021 gold sticker to append to its initial 2018 Recognition Award.
  • This award reflects LACGH’s excellence in endoscopy as assessed by the Canada-Global Rating Scale (C-GRS).
