Rehabilitative

Occupational Therapy (OT) services at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital are focused on helping inpatients recover or adapt to everyday activities such as bathing, dressing, preparing meals, and other personal care routines. With a focus on restoring independence and promoting safe discharge, the OT works closely with the broader rehab team to support functional recovery.

Program Details

Occupational Therapy services are available to medical, surgical, and convalescent care inpatients through referral from the care team. The OT assesses each patient’s functional status and identifies goals that align with recovery and discharge readiness. Treatment plans may include exercises, task practice, equipment recommendations, and caregiver education. The goal is to help each patient achieve maximum independence and safety.

OT services are delivered as part of a multidisciplinary approach alongside nursing, physiotherapy, recreation therapy, and other disciplines involved in rehabilitation and patient care.
