Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act

What is the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act (S.C. 2023, c. 9)
In January 2024 the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act came into effect. The Act requires imposes reporting obligations on certain Entities and Government Institutions describing their activities in the fight against forced and child labour.  The annual report and on-line questionnaire must be submitted to Public Safety Canada no later than May 31 and a copy of the report be made available on the reporting Entity’s website.   Further information may be found at:Effective January 2024, this Act imposes reporting obligations on certain entities and government institutions. Reports must be submitted to Public Safety Canada by May 31 annually and posted online.

Freedom of Information (FOI)

Hospitals in Ontario have been covered by FIPPA since January 1, 2012. This gives you the right to request access to recorded information held by LACGH, including records of personal information (from January 1, 2007 onward). Requests for personal health information remain governed by Personal Health Information Protection Act PHIPA.

How to Make an FOI Request

  • Written requests must provide enough detail to identify the records sought.
  • Include your contact information and a $5.00 application fee (cheque or money order; no cash).
  • Additional costs for processing (e.g., photocopying) may apply. You will be notified in advance.
  • Requests can be for general records or personal information (excluding health records).
