Diagnostic & Support Services

The Laboratory at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, supporting inpatient units and the Emergency Department. It plays a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions by analyzing samples such as blood, urine, and other body fluids. The hospital laboratory is fully accredited and licensed through the Ministry of Health and performs a broad range of tests on-site.

The hospital laboratory performs a wide variety of tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion services, among others. Its 24/7 operations ensure patients receive timely diagnoses and monitoring. For patients who require more specialized testing, specimens are collected on-site and sent to external reference laboratories for testing.

Can I call the hospital to ask about test results?

For inpatient and emergency tests your results will be sent to your primary care provider. If you do not have a primary care provider, please refer to our Medical Records and Health Info page.

Where do I go for outpatient bloodwork?

Outpatient specimens are collected at LifeLabs, located at 110 Bridge Street West, Napanee.

Do I need an appointment for inpatient bloodwork?

No. Inpatient and emergency diagnostics are performed as part of your hospital care.

Are all tests done on-site at LACGH?

Many tests are performed on-site. Tests that require specialized analysis are sent to Kingston Health Sciences Centre.
