Lennox & Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) welcomes family and friends to visit patients. Our visiting guidelines are designed to create a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.
Our Visiting Hours
Our general visiting hours are as follows:
All Days (Monday to Sunday) 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Special Considerations:
Please check with the nursing unit if you are visiting outside of these hours, or in special circumstances such as palliative or critical care.
Visiting hours may change based on public health guidelines or hospital policies. Always check for updates before visiting.
Visiting may be limited during outbreaks, isolation precautions, or critical-care situations.
The clinical team may ask visitors to step out temporarily to support patient care.
Visitor Guidelines
To ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone, we kindly ask visitors to observe the following guidelines:
Clean hands frequently, especially upon entering and leaving the patient room.
Limit the number of visitors to maintain a peaceful environment (currently limited to 2 visitors per patient).
Visitors showing signs of illness (fever, cough, etc.) should postpone their visit.
Please respect patient privacy and hospital quiet hours.
Do not bring strong-scented flowers or latex balloons due to allergies and sensitivities.
Follow any masking or personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as indicated by staff.
Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times; visits with young children should be limited.
Essential Caregiver Information at LACGH
Essential caregivers (designated family, friends, or care partners) play a key role in supporting patient well-being and decision-making.
Importance of Caregiver Support: LACGH values caregiver presence, balancing infection control and patient/family needs.
Temporary Changes Due to COVID-19:
Restrictions align with provincial guidance to reduce transmission risks.
LACGH, like other Ontario hospitals, has implemented these precautions.
Policy changes are reviewed as COVID-19 conditions evolve.
Virtual Visits:
Available to all patients and caregivers using personal devices or hospital-provided tablets.
Access free public Wi-Fi and video apps (FaceTime, Messenger, Zoom).
Palliative and End-of-Life Care: Special considerations are made to support family presence during end-of-life care. Contact the unit for guidance.
Critical Care Units: Visiting hours and policies may differ for patients in critical care. Please confirm with staff.
COVID-19 Precautions
Visitors must adhere to the hospital’s infection prevention protocols, including wearing masks in designated areas and maintaining physical distancing where required.
Some units may have additional precautions; signage and staff guidance will be provided.
