Background
On March 18, 2021, the MPP Daryl Kramp, along with the Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) and LACGH announced that a 128-bed Long-Term Care (LTC) Home would be built on the Hospital grounds. Since the announcement, the Hospital and its partners have been taking the necessary steps to get shovels in the ground as quickly as possible. The Home, once complete, will be situated on the land between the Hospital and the LACGH Lenadco Complex.
Following feedback from community and staff members, enhancements were made to the finalized working drawings prior to their submission to the MLTC. Key features added include:
The addition of heated floors in the common shower and tub rooms;
The addition of Resident lifts to assist in physiotherapy;
Expansion of the heated concrete pad at the exterior entrance to reduce the likelihood of slips and falls during the winter months.
