Basic Function and Scope:

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent will provide administrative support and process staffing and scheduling requests to meet operational needs of Lennox and Addington County General Hospital based on the applicable collective agreements.

 

Hours of Work:
Weekend Worker- Monday (9 am to 9 pm), Saturday/Sunday (rotation of days 6 am to 2 pm /evenings 1 pm to 9 pm).
Pay Rate:
$28.37-$32.23

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Office Administration Certificate (one year) or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare facility, including a minimum of six months experience in staff scheduling within the last 5 years, required.
  • Ability to perform in a high paced, high demand role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and communicate effectively and courteously at all times.
  • Familiarity with computer scheduling systems.
  • Accurate and advanced typing/keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and undertake multiple tasks.
  • Ability to organize work assignments, deal with frequent interruptions, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Discretion and sound judgement in handling confidential matters is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision as a team member.
  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education.
  • Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search, required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters employee coding and schedule changes into the scheduling system.
  • Updates work sheets and spreadsheets as required.
  • Ensures that department managers are aware of the status of departmental staffing and scheduled levels.
  • Informs the department Manager when unable to secure adequate staff or when there is surplus staff.
  • Maintains staffing/ scheduling statistics and generates reports as required.
