As part of the interdisciplinary team at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital, Registered Dietitians provide individualized nutrition assessments, education, and care planning for inpatients. These services help support recovery, improve outcomes, and ensure patients’ nutritional needs are met during their hospital stay.

Program Details

Inpatient Services

Registered Dietitian services are available to all medical, surgical, and convalescent care inpatients. Referrals are made by the attending physician. The Dietitian collaborates with the care team to develop and adjust nutrition care plans, offer education, and help patients meet their individual nutrition goals.

Dietary Services

All meals are prepared on-site to ensure safe and healthy choices tailored to patient needs. Inpatients are offered a choice of two menu options per meal to promote variety and support healing through good nutrition. Nutrition is considered a core component of recovery during hospitalization.

Cafeteria & Public Food Services

The LACGH cafeteria serves a selection of healthy meals and snacks including soups, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. The facility has previously received the Eat Smart Award in recognition of its excellence in nutrition, food safety, and smoke-free policies.

A vending machine is available during off-hours, stocked with healthy items such as wraps, salads, snacks, and Keurig coffee pods.
